Li Wei and Liu Zhiyin are sculpting art partners living and working in Beijing. Born in 1980, both artists graduated from the prestigious Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 2010. Li Wei specialised in sculpture, while Liu Zhiyin focused on garment design. In 2016, Li Wei further honed his craft as a visiting scholar in sculpture at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

Their works reflect a captivating fusion of Eastern and Western influences, embodying the essence of both worlds and giving rise to a compelling artistic language that brimming with vitality and energy. Collaboratively, they weave intricate narratives that showcase the beauty and grandeur of sculpture. Liu Zhiyin provides the 'form' while Li Wei provides the 'body.' [The form imbues the body with essence, energy (qi), and spirit, and the body becomes intertwined with the form.] Their artworks vividly express this mutual intergrowth, drawing from a wide range of contemporary sculptural experiences to achieve visualised transcendental spiritual contemplation. They infuse the visual language of their artworks with the spirit of Oriental traditional art and the lived experiences of our time. Their poetic nature reflects the aspirations of our generation and strikes a chord with the audience. Their works have been collected by prominent art institutions such as the Shanghai Long Museum, the Yinchuan Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Nanjing Museum, as well as numerous private collectors.
