HUANG PIN TONG
Huang Pin Tong was born in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1987. She graduated from the Sculpture Department of the National Taiwan University of Arts in 2009. In 2010 and 2011, she received the Gold Prize of the YULON Woodcarving Innovation Awards, Taiwan’s highest honor in the contemporary wood sculpture category, for two consecutive years. In 2017, Huang was invited to hold a solo exhibition titled Meet at the Yu-Hsiu Museum of Art, an opportunity that attracted significant attention and marked an important milestone in the artist’s career. A distinctive feature of Huang’s work is the soft, delicate feet reminiscent of those of a baby. The rounded, voluminous figures evoke a sense of spiritual nourishment and the richness of life, leaving viewers with a feeling of emotional fullness. This impression is further enhanced by the inherent warmth of the wood material, which vividly amplifies the gentle yet powerful atmosphere of the works.
