"GIANT SIGNALS" is an exhibition presented by Art Innovation that will unfold on the monumental LED billboards of 5 Times Square, a landmark in Times Square. Held to coincide with The Armory Show Week 2026, the works of participating artists will be displayed on the billboards every evening starting at 6:30 PM local time.

The participating artists' trajectories intersect with major international institutions and cultural platforms including MoMA, the Venice Biennale, Tate Modern, Centre Pompidou, ZKM, Ars Electronica, the Louvre Museum, Whitechapel Gallery, Manifesta and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Selected artists will also be featured in a dedicated editorial section of Prompt Magazine 19, scheduled for December 2026.

Shiozawa's selection was not the result of a public vote, but of a rigorous review by the Curatorial Committee, composed of international professionals active in the fields of contemporary and digital art, including curators Auronda Scalera and Dr. Alfredo Cramerotti. The committee made its selections based on criteria such as artistic quality, originality, conceptual consistency, visual impact, and relevance to contemporary artistic research and the international art context. The 43 participating practices consist of 30 selected through the review, 10 selected through Social Engagement, and three artists invited directly by Art Innovation.

The four works by Shiozawa to be screened are 'Neon,' 'Nostalgie,' 'Once upon a time,' and 'The Moonlit Museum.' Notably, 'Neon' is also the main visual for her solo exhibition at Whitestone Gallery Hong Kong, which opens on October 24. This presents a valuable opportunity to view the work on a monumental billboard in New York ahead of the solo show, where the physical piece can be seen in Hong Kong.

The exhibition presents a collection of works that traverse diverse fields—including digital art, moving image, artificial intelligence, generative systems, photography, architecture, and expanded media—specifically in relation to the scale and visual conditions of the Times Square public space. It is positioned as part of Art Innovation’s ongoing research into using existing communication infrastructures as spaces for contemporary culture and public encounters.
