KENTO SENGA: Essence of Love
Seoul
2025.07.25 - 08.24
Essence of Love - The Energy Born from Love
"Love" is a universal emotion that connects us all.
Among the many forms love can take, one of the most powerful is the moment we encounter someone we truly love.
It’s in that instant our hearts are flooded with a complex blend of emotions—joy, surprise, anxiety, and anticipation. This emotional chaos generates an energy rarely accessed in daily life, and at its core lies love itself.
When this energy stirs the heart, we lose ourselves, feel truly alive, and exist fully in the present moment.
This exhibition expresses the essence of love through the world of FiNGAiSM.
I hope you immerse yourself in it.
ー Kento Senga
Whitestone Gallery Seoul is pleased to present Essence of Love, a solo exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Kento Senga. Widely recognized as a member of the Japanese idol group Kis-My-Ft2, Senga has steadily expanded his creative practice into visual art, combining paintingsculpture, and character-based storytelling. This exhibition marks an important step in his evolving artistic journey, offering a thoughtful exploration of love as a powerful and dynamic emotional force.
In Essence of Love, Senga presents a series of works that examine how love manifests through a wide spectrum of emotions – joy, anticipation, anxiety, and vulnerability. Rather than portraying love as a static or idealized concept, he approached it as an active, generative energy that emerges in moments of genuine human connection. His original character, FiNGA, serves as a recurring figure throughout the exhibition, embodying this emotional range with playful expressiveness and symbolic depth.

Senga’s painterly style is rooted in spontaneity and gesture, allowing instinct and movement to guide each work’s development. Layered brushwork, animated lines, and sculptural forms come together to evoke the intensity and unpredictability of emotional experience. Drawing on his background in choreography and performance, his artworks pulse with rhythm and feeling, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and connect.
The exhibition extends across Whitestone Gallery Seoul’s 1F and 4F spaces, creating an immersive environment where Senga’s universe – what he refers to as FiNGAiSM – unfold through multiple media. The result is a celebration of creativity driven by emotion, memory, and the ongoing search for meaningful expression.

This exhibition coincides with a solo show by actor and artist Park Kiwong, titled FUTURESUPERHERO, on view in the B1 gallery space. Together, the two exhibitions celebrate the growing creative practices of artist-entertainers, each offering distinct yet complementary visions that span performance, identity, and imagination.

ARTIST

Kento Senga, a multidisciplinary artist and member of Kis-My-Ft2, blends entertainment industry experience with pop culture influences to create a unique artistic vision. His work spans character art, painting, sculpture, 3D animation, and custom sneaker design, all driven by the pursuit of emotionally resonant and globally beloved creations.
At the heart of his work is FiNGA, an original character inspired by his deep appreciation for expressive finger movements—an influence rooted in his background in choreography and cherished childhood memories with his grandmother. Initially exploring oil and acrylic painting, he sought greater creative freedom by embracing spontaneous brushwork, allowing forms and ideas to emerge naturally through the artistic process.
Senga has since expanded his practice to include digital art, painting, sculpting, and 3D animation, shaping a distinctive world that merges multiple disciplines. His custom sneaker designs showcase meticulous craftsmanship, as he trained under expert shoemakers to learn material selection, stitching techniques, and intricate post-bed sewing machine work, ensuring every detail reflects his artistic vision.
By incorporating dynamic linework, varied brush pressure, and an appreciation for spontaneity, Senga continuously expands the possibilities of his art. FiNGA remains the driving force behind his creativity—a symbol of his artistic evolution and personal storytelling. With an ever-evolving vision, he remains dedicated to exploring new forms of expression and pushing the boundaries of contemporary character art.
