Whitestone Gallery Karuizawa is pleased to announce Chun-Hao Chan’s first solo show in Japan: ‘Landscape Painting Made of Mosquito Nails-Chun Hao Chen solo exhibition’.
The artist is based in Taiwan and produces artwork using nail guns. His themes are borrowed mostly from landscape paintings in the Palace Museum.
‘I do not like to follow somebody’s footsteps, that is why I produced my original creative style and am looking for my own creative symbols.’ ‘From thumbtacks to nails, it could be said that this is a maniac encounter of natural talent and nature of metal.’ ‘Sharp nails became my representor of light and shadow, and for me, tracing in this way allowed me to give a very unique expression - exploring the possibilities of creations in a limited materials.’
