아카세가와 겐페이

아카세가와 겐페이는 아방가르드를 대중문화의 더 큰 영역으로 성공적으로 전환한 예술가이자, 수상 경력이 있는 문학 작가이면서 사진작가이다. 그는 1960년경 일본 미술계에 등장하여, 급진적인 "반 미술" 운동을 시작하면서 영향력 있는 예술가 단체인 Neo-Dada와 Hi Red Center의 일원이 되었다.

그의 대표작인 1,000엔 지폐 사건은 경찰의 실제 수사와 재판을 포함하고 있다. 예술과 문화계의 중요 인물들이 도쿄 법정에서 증언하고 창조적 자유의 정의에 대해 논의했으며, 이는 아카세가와가 개념주의자로서의 자리를 확고히 굳힌 계기가 되었다.

특히나 그는 비평가들로부터 큰 호평을 받으며, 20개 이상의 출판물로 정점을 찍었다. The Power of the Elderly(1998)은 2001년에 가장 유명한 상을 받았고, Fairy Sakura, Laity Sakura(1993)는 JTB 여행 문학상을 받았고, 각본 Rikyu(1990)는 일본 아카데미 영화상 올해의 각본상 후보에 올랐다. The Adventures on the Streets of Tokyo(1987)은 Kodansha 출판사의 에세이 상을 받았다. Yukino(1983년)는 노마 문학상 신인작가상을, My Father Disappeared(1981년)은 Akutagawa상 84회, Touch of Your Skin(1979년)은 Chuokoron-sha 신인작가상을 받았다.

1986년, 아카세가와는 일본의 건축가 Terunobu Fujimori를 포함한 협력자들과 함께 Rojō Kansatsu Gakkai(거리관찰학회)라는 새로운 그룹을 결성했다. 아카세가와가 명명한 개념 예술인 Hyperact Thomassons 는 일본의 물질 문화와 일상생활에 대한 조사를 접목시킨 것이다.
