In early November, at the height of the autumn arts season, three students from Taimei Elementary School, accompanied by parents and teachers, visited Whitestone Ginza New Gallery. As part of a "gallery tour" project, the students enjoyed the current solo exhibition "Reflection" by Yu Kawashima.
The elementary school students were greeted by a gallerist from Whitestone Gallery, who spoke about the current exhibition. The students appeared fascinated by the gallery, a space different from museums, and freely explored the venue. Since this was the third venue they had visited, they could be heard comparing the exhibited works with those at other locations, saying "these are completely different!"
One student, while looking at the artwork, pointed to a distant piece and said, "That looks like a dolphin." Yu Kawashima's works mainly feature human figures, and there are no works depicting animals in this exhibition. When asked about this observation, the student explained that a certain part of the artwork reminded them of a dolphin. Responding to this comment, another student chimed in, "It looks like a wild boar to me," as they shared various spontaneous impressions of what they saw in the paintings. The time was filled with surprises at the children's free-flowing imagination.

The day seemed to leave a lasting impression on the children as a cultural experience befitting the autumn arts season. Whitestone Gallery hopes that such experiences will spark creativity and will continue its efforts to connect art with the next generation.
