MANE: The Room I Still Dream Of
Ginza New Gallery
2025.10.03 - 10.25
Whitestone Ginza New Gallery is pleased to present "The Room I Still Dream Of", a solo exhibition by MANE, an internationally active artist based in Seoul.
According to the artist, there exists a room called "memory" between the child he once was and the person he is today - a space that does not exist in reality, yet quietly remains in a corner of his mind as a place uniquely his own.
Within this room dwell imagined fantasies, unspoken emotions, and landscapes etched into his heart, all standing still in silence. This exhibition seeks to reconstruct that inner space, not as a physical place, but as an emotional landscape left deep within, expressed through paintings, sketches, and sculptures.
At the center of this space is the character Mariffe, a character embodying the very essence of childhood. Somewhere in that room, Mariffe is always there, warmly welcoming us.
We sincerely look forward to your visit.

ARTIST
Born in 1978, in Seoul, South Korea
MANE explores the fleeting nature of memory, drawing heavily on the nostalgia of his childhood. Having grown up in the 1980s and 1990s, he was influenced by the vivid colors and pop culture of those decades, which blend into the narratives he creates. His work often reimagines fragments of past experiences, transforming them into whimsical and reflective visuals. Through his art, MANE aims to evoke emotions and create dreamlike worlds where memory and reality intersect. He frequently incorporates the character Mariffe, who symbolizes curiosity and adventure, two key elements that shaped his youth. By recreating the essence of innocence and wonder, he strives to give viewers an opportunity to reflect on their own childhood experiences and rediscover their inner child.
