Whitestone Gallery Karuizawa is pleased to announce Yuhei Takada’s exhibition: Assembly of Imagination. Newspaper, which could be the simplest and most general scrap material, is not worth anything except the information written on it. It is printed and thrown away every day. Yuhei Takada focuses on the diversity of newspaper and applies this matter to artistic creations: to sculptures and installations, not to mention paintings. Thus, apparently useless scraps get a new lease of life as artworks. Patterns and sculptures made of out of twisting newspapers imply the time spent by the artist as well as the records of passing days, original function of newspapers.
