Whitestone Gallery Karuizawa is pleased to announce the exhibition “Blue” focusing on the color “blue” and having an overview our gallery collection based on the coloration.
We generally associate the color “blue” with the huge scale of the nature such as sky, sea, and water. Whereas it is the color which invokes comfortable sensation like transparency, coolness, and liberation, it symbolizes simultaneously sense of pathos and melancholy. This attribute is why many artists are intrigued by this color.
Worlds of blue which have been constantly represented by more than thirty artists from GUTAI Art Association after the second world war to recent young prominent artists will be displayed in this opportunity. We are looking forward to welcoming you in the crisp air of early summer in Karuizawa.
