Whitestone Gallery is showcasing post-war Japanese artists such as Gutai and Yayoi Kusama on the 7F floor of H Queen’s gallery.
Moreover, one of the main figure of America’s minimalism movement in 1960s, the artist Tadaaki Kuwayama’s works are also exhibited in there.
The metallic paintings divided in the centre by a thin metal strip shows the aesthetics of Kuwayama’s creation, which completely removes the essence of panting.
Also, 240 cm vertical paintings used by bakelite material were exhibited in Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art. Viewers can appreciate a sense of cross-fertilisation between artworks and the space emerged by repetition of the works.
