INTRODUCTION

"Emergence" is the process where quantitative changes lead to qualitative transformations; it is the interaction and resonance between the new and the old. It exists in nature, social communities, and the universe, being the birthplace of creativity and possibility. Humans cannot control external "emergence", but occasionally, we can grasp the frequency of our inner "emergence". Through reinforcement-based learning, we engage in a dialogue and dance with our ever-changing selves at the edge of chaos, creating new potential outcomes for the future.

Tianjin Ren's artistic creation is like a dialogue with the "emergence" of flow, a practice of energy exchange with his subjects. He uses his unique artistic style to explore how individuals rebuild their sense of self and spiritual core.

As an artist with in-depth knowledge and extensive experience, Tianjin Ren's diverse roles have enabled him to navigate abundant social resources and embrace a reflective way of life. His deep reflection on calligraphy within the context of Eastern and Western cultures is evident in his creations. Tianjin Ren's approach to calligraphy aesthetics is very rigorous. He understands that in the Chinese cultural sphere, the appreciation of calligraphy encompasses the text's connotation, composition, brushwork, and ink rhythm; and in contrast, Western viewers, limited by language, can only grasp the visual layout, brushstroke momentum, and other more intuitive aspects. He believes Eastern calligraphers should find inspiration from Western artists' appropriation of calligraphy, enabling the art form to achieve its modern transformation from within.

This experimental creative state enabled Tianjin Ren to be highly productive in the past six years, he has chosen a variety of painting tools, resulting in a series of works with a strong creative texture and distinctive style."The Script" series, which is based on the most fundamental element in traditional Chinese calligraphy, each stroke of the works is imbued with individuality and variance. "The Slalom" series represents a transitional phase where Tianjin Ren paints with a palette knife, shifting from abstract encoding to concrete shaping. The exhibition will also show the artist's "Monet's Garden", “Silhouette”, “A Space Odyssey” and "The Dream of Cloud" series, Viewers can immerse themselves in the space constructed by the brushstrokes, seeking out the hidden pictographs among the brushwork, feeling the breath of the landscape as if it has merged into the viewer's heart. The artist's most influential sculptures series, "Taihu Rock" and "Populus Euphratica" are also presented in the exhibition, the works incorporate three-dimensional calligraphy elements, combining ancient traditions with contemporary vitality, and provoking the viewer to think about life and truth. Tianjin Ren's artistic language is neither solitary nor aloof but filled with affinity, like a flowing melody; it is a natural occurrence, and outpouring of “emergence”.
