MIYAKO TERAKURA

MIYAKO TERAKURA
Born in 1994 in Gifu Prefecture, Terakura graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2017 and completed a Master’s program in Crafts (Ceramics) in 2020. She also studied at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Poland for half a year in 2018. Her works combine slip casting and handbuilding techniques to create porcelain sculptures of infants and children as they symbolize naivety and remind us of the undiluted stage of our lives. By projecting the hopes and feelings of many, Terkaura’s creations are vessels that convey warmth and joy that brings hope.
