Whitestone's Guide to Wong Chuk Hang

2025.09.10
FEATURE

Went from industrial underdog to one of the most electrifying districts in Hong Kong, Wong Chuk Hang will never be dull with its dynamic list of to-do. Whether you're a first-timer to Hong Kong or locals who yearn for a new perspective in the city, read our guide on Wong Chuk Hang's best restaurants, cafes, galleries and shops.

Good Food to Start the Day

Unlike Central that boasts a bustling restaurant lineup, Wong Chuk Hang packs with secluded foodie gems once you start exploring. Head to Arca Society at the Arca for their monthly rotating menu, brimming with Asian and Western delights. (Tips: Book a stay at the Arca to make your exploration at ease.) For cheap eats, Nan Long Shan Cooked Food Market gets cramped up during lunch hours as locals sit down for Cantonese hot dishes, though the market is more known for the casual Thai meal at Thung Tawan Thai Food. Try their wok-fried dishes mastered by a former Michelin chef. For curious diners, Africa Coffee and Tea sets out to broaden our dining experience serving authentic African-Ethiopian cuisine, or SObyACT, a sister cafe that serves specialty coffee and light food on the go.

New to the Wong Chuk Hang art community, Whitestone Gallery is celebrating its relocation with a soft opening exhibition "Contours of Expression". By showcasing meticulous works of post-war and contemporary Japanese artists, as well as a Hong Kong-based designer duo, the exhibition navigates how lines and shapes, as the fundamental element of artistic expressions, reflect each artists' unique approach.
