藤原志保

Born in Nishinomiya-city, Hyogo Japan
Fascinated with Sumi Painting in girlhood and enrolled in painting school.
Trained in the fundamental study of Sumi and Washi(Japanese Paper). Continued work with a motif of trees and wood after that. Traveled alone to Amami-Archipelago and wandered in the tropical forest countless times in1970s. Was deeply moved by the gigantic roots of the tall trees and by the ominous clouds hanging low over the horizon. Aspired to work on “abstract expression" with Sumi and Washi(Japanese Paper) Currently holds an atelier in Sasayama-city. Continuing the study of expression with “Sumi and Washi" and producing abstract works in monochrome even now.
