ミズテツオ

海上における船舶間の通信に用いられる「国際信号旗」を組み合わせてタイトルをデザインしてゆくフラッグ・シリーズにより、1980年代に一躍脚光を浴びる。イタリアやフランス、スペインに長く居住し、各地で展示を行う。1987年ローマ近郊アンツィオのコンクールに招聘出品し特別賞を受賞、サンタ・アンナ教会のステンドグラス制作を依頼される。「ピカソ・ダリ・シャガール・ミズ」展（1989年：バルセロナ）、「ダリ・ミズ」展（1990年：ボーヌ・フランス）など、いかにミズが欧州の画壇で高い評価を得ていたかがわかる。極細のラインに仕切られるマットで量感のある絵肌は、現代の抽象でありながら浮世絵との類似を指摘されることもある。Art Basel（スイス）、FIAC（パリ）、Art Rio（ブラジル）などアートフェアにも多数出展。
